Temora = Wiradjuri land. But a German first chose the site of Temora (although the town has a name of Irish derivation); another German laid out the township.

teacher's strike and personal duty...
My daughter's an exhausted primary teacher. She's always acknowledged strikes. But today's different. Some students are in a sports final...in a country town. She's in charge. The final is today...strike day. She wanted to strike, but didn't want to disappoint the students...so

art of covid isolation in the house...
PASSING THOUGHT: We're getting this covid-isolation-in-the-house scenario down to a fine art...Whenever my covid-struck daughter wants to go to the toilet+shower, she texts us all. We get behind closed doors. When she is back in her room, she texts us all that the coast is clear.

covid has not disappeared...
PASSING THOUGHT: Covid has not disappeared...My daughter has covid and is quite sick. My 2 grandsons have covid. So far, my son-in-law and I have escaped it...So far...Not easy trying to keep separate and isolated in one house...We can only try...

My daughter is exhausted from her work as a school principal and teacher...Recently, her school has suffered from many teacher absences covid-related...She has been covering for them...or trying to do so...Her husband begged her to take a day off...Now she has covid herself...Her hubby is almost relieved because it has forced her to stop where he failed...Now, here's hoping, she gets mild covid and can just focus on resting...
P.S. I have discovered that covid-ridden, stressed, exhausted teachers are grumpy. Offered my daughter a coffee from behind her closed door:

'No thanks. Don't fuss'...
Hmmm...
My daughter also added 'I'm OK'????????
Nothing like 'in-house' text messages...My daughter just texted me from 2 rooms away that she is going to the toilet + having a shower...This is crazy...

new life begins...
Last Tuesday19th April, my son (from Adelaide) and I took a long rainy drive from Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula in southern Victoria to Temora, in the Riverina region of southern NSW...
My son drove my car (+ me) to Temora...to my daughter's current home...I stay with her, (possibly 10 weeks), till finally her Temora home is completed. Then I take over her rental...a cute little olde world cottage with a white picket fence...Love it...
This changeover was an amazing moment...For the first time in some years, I was seeing my son and daughter at the same time...My son stayed with us for a couple of days before heading back to Adelaide with his partner...
My life by the sea is now converting to my life in a country town...
