Temora Bundawarrah Centre + Rural Museum...

The Bundawarrah Centre in Temora is an amazing complex...

This massive, impressive, beautifully laid out indoor/outdoor site on Junee Road, Temora tells the story of the development of rural Australia through a vast collection of original buildings and exhibits.

The site includes the indigenous heritage of Temora, the evolution of agricultural settlement, the impact of the gold rush and the war years, and how the rural lifestyle has changed with technology. It also houses Sir Donald Bradman's first home, the Temora Ambulance Museum, and the Temora Rock and Mineral Museum, lifestyle and textile displays and a working collection of farm machinery and engines.

I took so many many photos and still wasn't satisfied I captured all I would like...
Following is just a selection of those photos...

The beautiful story of this Wiradjuri country is represented...

The room devoted to rocks, minerals and shells represented one of the largest collections of its kind I have ever seen
(I am a rock and shell enthusiast)...

It was a very difficult area to photograph effectively because many items were small...
But that didn't stop me from spending quite some time browsing...

The incredible, legendary story of the Mother Shipton's Mine in Temora is here...
The Mother Shipton nugget, discovered in 1885, was the largest piece of gold-bearing quartz recovered from the Temora goldfields...
It comprised 3 pieces (the nugget broke)...The smallest was presented to Queen Victoria in 1886...

The grounds outdoors were beautifully laid out and maintained...

Even Temora's own radio station was housed here...

As was the Egg Marketing Board of NSW...
It was established in 1928-1989...

It was wonderful browsing olde worldes with glimpses of countryside nearby...

And the grounds were dotted with country features like this one...

And some oddities like this one???

Each building represented a different exhibit...

Thrilled to see old steam engines represented...

Not only were vintage cars on display, but they were stored in a shed that also featured old posters and advertisements + vehicle parts relevant to the old days of vehicle power...

Vintage fire engines and carriages were similarly exhibited in their own shed...

The reality of the old school room intrigued me...
(The teacher in me emerges)...

Even an old, small church is represented here...

I delighted in some of the quirky items to be found...

Of course, I must mention that Sir Donald Bradman's first home is here...

Finally, honorable mention must be made of the museum cat who seemed to have the role of guarding the threshold between indoor and outdoor exhibits...

Clearly, it was quite a tiring duty...

But we must soldier on...

art of covid isolation in the house...
