And the 4 attempts seem to be my somewhat reliable friend...

Temora = Wiradjuri land. But a German first chose the site of Temora (although the town has a name of Irish derivation); another German laid out the township.

WordHurdle 314...
Old Cootamundra Road drive...
Today, the weather had many moods...a little rainy and misty at times...
But still I yearned to drive...
I chose nearby Old Cootamundra Road, Temora...
No matter the weather...the countryside did not disappoint...
If I saw a side road, I pulled in and took photos...
Loved looking across farmland to distant blue hills...
or even just misty, low hills...
but the road beckoned onwards...
And now my favourite finds of the day...
The first appeared in this post's first photo and the one above...
All those lovely misty tones drifting across the countryside were so appealing...
And my 2nd favourite find was this rocky cutting which suddenly appeared by the road as it snaked quite sharply downhill...
UPDATE
My daughter has just told me never to drive this road in summer...
If a wind is blowing, the air is filled with red dust...damaging for cars...
country road and a large patch of water...
Yesterday, I wandered some nearby streets and, in Gardners Street, across from a camping ground, I found a rather large, attractive patch of water...
I am missing the water of my Mornington Peninsula days in Victoria, so even a patch of water close by appealed to me...even if behind a net fence...
Much to my surprise, I saw a cormorant or two there...
Somehow, I was determined to get some photos, even if my camera rested on a gap in the netting...
Of course, a strange person appearing at the fence unsettled the birds, so off they flew to the far side...
No more photos...at least not of cormorants...
Patiently I tried to identify the 'dots' on the water in the above photo...
I hoped that the young ones barely visible may come closer, but instead, they turned to the far patch of grasses...
Still have no idea what these birds were...
Maybe ducklings, but where was mother duck?
So before leaving, I took a photo of the country road nearby...
And a lone tree...
Loving the peace and stillness of this beautiful country world
Temora is definitely growing on me...

Intriguing thought for the day... I do know for sure, these days I could qualify for a starring role in a 'slow doco'... https://t.c...

It's not uncommon to find freebies in Temora...esp outside shops in the main street... Today, free fruit was available outside a cafe......
