NAIDOC WEEK... in Temora

So good to see these banners flying proudly
in Temora's main street, Hoskins Street...

We are acknowledging NAIDOC WEEK,
our indigenous heritage...
The event is acknowledged right across Australia from July 5 to July 12...
This week-long observance has now been celebrated for 50 years...

NAIDOC banners
proudly take the sky stage
in Temora's main street
the future tries to walk wisely
through Wiradjuri Country

the meaning of distractions...

My daughter's beautiful dog Bella is always alert...
Distractions are often not mere distractions but may emerge as worthwhile cautions...

I have taken a leaf from her guru diary...
Lately I have not been writing poetry, daily, but more time consuming mini drama scripts...
They are based on Temora's Urban Myths using Bill Speirs publication...

Who knows where this distraction may lead,
but initially, the script will be used on 31st October
in my special Temora exhibition of art then and now...
where arts communicate and create a special ecosystem of want and need...

my study is a working workshop...

my study is a working workshop
a conglomeration of half-born and half-baked ideas
patiently waiting for a moment of wholesome glory

what may seem like a carnival of worthless clutter
in fact secretes
a wish
a dream
my soul's endless hope
to be released from
the humble, raw, caged pound of the many

to feel quietly unique

somewhere

to feel treasured

by someone

blasts of winds...

blasts of winds thundering rain do not mean the presence of a destructive #cyclone there may be flooding but just minor flooding it may last a mere couple of hours or so but the cracks of wall-shaking body-rattling thunder will surely convince the hardened skeptic that Nature rules #vss365
