hear, see and feel
the blessings of waters
they could be a sign of
incoming journeys

feisty and mouthy
a sprightly pocket full of
stripey feathers
commonly visits
in our hot Christmas season
loves red banksias
insects and berries
even seeds are staple food
but sweet nectar wins
little wattlebird
boasts no glamorous plumage
yet thrilling dancer
