WEDNESDAY 24.9.25

ME: Albo's speech to the UN was a winner - right after Trump's madness. He has earnt heaps of scaled up points from me. You know. Albanese may just be the right guy for us. He sounds a wimp, no performance flair, no wild gestures, so he keeps on the fringe of Trump's wild world....But still, Albo is around. That's strategy. He avoids the inner circle of chaos. Albo preserves our sovereignty and makes that very clear in his UN speech. I wonder if any one else noticed. I think Albo will go down in history as the quiet achiever. But not quite yet.

Marita: Albo did inspire confidence and stability. He didn’t back down but I don’t know what will happen when he meets Trump.

ME: You know...I feel he will be calm and non committal to any significant extent...no fireworks. Even when Albo presented his speech...timing after Trump...I feel went in Albo's favour. Zelensky lost it with Trump. Let us see if Albo can beat that.

Marita: Yes he will be calm and dignified.

ME: I think so. ALBO is more likely to lose it with air head reporters. Here is an extract from Albo's speech to indicate he is a quiet achiever. This impressed me. I had no idea.

The United Nations is much more than an arena for the great powers to veto each other's ambitions. This is a platform for middle powers and small nations to voice – and achieve - our aspirations. That is why Australia is seeking a place on the UN Security Council in 2029-30. And it is why we are bidding to co-host the 31st Conference of the Parties, with our Pacific family nations for whom climate change is more than an environmental challenge, it is an existential threat. This is a place for the global spotlight to shine on suffering and struggles that might otherwise be forgotten.

Marita: I am so happy h is putting the spotlight on the small Pacific nations. They are suffering. ME: That explains his intense spotlight recently on the Pacific...I think we should wait and see and not let the grand international chaos blind us to the progress happening in our own country.

THURSDAY 25.9.25 - HYPOTHETICALS

My friend Marita - I was just watching a documentary on Bob Hawke. I wonder how he would stack up now. I would like to see him up against Trump.
ME: Would Bob get on with Trump?
Marita: No I feel he would put him in his place.
ME: Not sure to tell the truth...I think Trump could wind up Bob...
Marita: Interesting maybe Keating might be better.
ME: I think Keating would be far better...bamboozle Trump with what appears a joke but actually is adult bullshit. Trump would not realise.
Marita: Yes a much better opponent.
ME: I think Keating would thoroughly enjoy stringing Trump along. Keating would be even better at playing games than Putin I feel.

FRIDAY 26.9.25 High public praise today for Australia from Ursula in UN. Australia first to legalise ban on social media for minors and high penalties for media platforms that don't comply. Great follow up after Albo's speech at UN. Not a single cringe to Trump in sight...This is what I mean...Watch this Albo space closely...

ME: The Trump film set is open 24 hours. No auditions. No rehearsals.
Albo walks the walk of traditional and new songlines.
